Terms of Service & Refund Policy

1. The service

ChatViewer is a browser-based tool that opens exported chat files (WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Signal) and turns them into PDF documents. All parsing, rendering, hashing and PDF generation happen inside your browser. We do not receive, store or see your chats.

The free tier lets you view any export and produce a PDF of the first 500 messages with a small footer line. Paid unlock keys remove that limit ("Unlimited PDF") and add a court-ready layout with a cover page, sequential message numbers, Bates stamps, SHA-256 hashes, a verification page and a prefilled certificate template ("Court-ready PDF").

2. Unlock keys

• An unlock key is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is a signed string that your browser verifies locally. It is not tied to a device or account; you may use it on any number of your own devices for your own use.
• Keep your key safe. If you lose it, enter the Razorpay payment id from your receipt in the export window to recover it, or email us.
• Keys are personal. Sharing a key publicly, reselling it, or using one key for a business's multiple staff is not permitted. Firms that need multi-seat use should email us.
• We may revoke keys obtained by fraud or chargeback.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars on the site; Razorpay may present the charge in your local currency at checkout. Payment is processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited; we do not see or store card details. Prices include any applicable Indian GST. A receipt is emailed by Razorpay.

4. Refunds

Because the tool runs in your browser, you can test the full viewer and a free PDF before paying. If a paid export does not work for your file, email us within 14 days of purchase with the payment id and a description of the problem (never send the chat itself). We will either fix it or refund in full. Refunds are returned to the original payment method through Razorpay and typically take 5 to 7 business days to appear.

We do not refund because a court, lawyer or authority declined to accept a document, because the wrong tier was bought after the export was completed, or for keys used beyond the limits in section 2.

5. Not legal advice; no guarantee of admissibility

Court-ready exports and the certificate templates are formatting and integrity aids. They are not legal advice and we are not a law firm. Whether a document is admissible, sufficient or persuasive depends on your jurisdiction, the court, the rest of your evidence and how you present it. The certificate templates must be completed and signed by the person who made the export; we do not sign, notarise or certify anything. Consult a lawyer for your case.

6. Your responsibilities

• Only process chats you are entitled to hold and use. Exporting another person's private messages may be unlawful where you live.
• Do not alter an export file before making a court-ready PDF; the tool reproduces what the file contains and records its hash.
• Keep the original export file and device. The PDF is a reproduction, not a replacement for the original evidence.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uptime. Because the tool runs locally, an unlock key keeps working for as long as the site is served. We may change features, prices or these terms; changes apply from the date shown at the top and do not remove functionality already paid for without a refund offer.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is". Our total liability for any claim connected with the service or an unlock key is limited to the amount you paid us for that key. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including the outcome of any legal proceeding.

9. Trademarks

WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and Signal are trademarks of their respective owners. ChatViewer is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of them.

10. Governing law and contact
