View your Telegram export like the real app

Drop your Telegram export here or click to choose a file — .json, .html or .zip, any size

Drop the result.json or messages.html produced by Telegram Desktop's Export chat history — read every message, photo and voice message in a familiar view, search it, then export a PDF.

Nothing is uploaded. Your chat is parsed entirely in your browser — it never touches a server.

A preview of the reading view. Open your own export and it fills with your conversation, in this app’s own colours.

Three steps, under a minute

  1. 1

    Export from Telegram Desktop

Only the desktop app can export — mobile Telegram cannot. Open the chat → the ⋮ menu → Export chat history. Choose "Machine-readable JSON" or HTML, tick photos and files if you want them, set the size limit slider, then hit Export.

  2. 2

    Open the file here

Drop result.json, messages.html, or the whole export folder zipped. The file never leaves your device — everything is parsed locally.

  3. 3

    Read, search, export

Browse the conversation, search every word, check the statistics, then export a PDF — free, unlimited, or court-ready with integrity hashes.

What you get

Both export formats

Works with the machine-readable JSON export and the HTML export Telegram Desktop produces — use whichever one you already have on disk.

Photos and voice messages inline

Media saved alongside your export in the photos, voice_messages and files folders shows up right inside the conversation.

Search across huge chats

Full-text search with highlighting, plus filtering by sender — useful in Telegram groups and channels with hundreds of members.

Unlimited PDF

The $9 one-time Unlimited PDF exports every message with embedded photos and no watermark, however long the export.

Court-ready PDF

The $19 Court-ready PDF adds a cover page, sequential message numbers, Bates stamps, a SHA-256 hash of your export file and of the PDF, a verification page, and a prefilled certificate template for your jurisdiction.

Private by architecture

No account, no upload, no tracking of your messages. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.

What's inside a Telegram export

Telegram Desktop's Export chat history produces one of two very different shapes, and knowing which one you have saves confusion:

Two quirks worth knowing before you export: mobile Telegram apps cannot export chat history at all — you need Telegram Desktop on Windows, macOS or Linux. And Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram data is a different, much bigger export that pulls your entire account rather than one conversation — use the per-chat Export chat history instead unless you actually want everything.

Because a long chat can span several HTML files, zip the whole export folder and drop the zip here rather than a single messages.html — that way you see the complete conversation in one place instead of one slice of it.

When you need the court-ready version

If the Telegram conversation you're exporting matters for a dispute, custody case or workplace complaint, the free and Unlimited PDFs are fine for review but the Court-ready PDF is built for submission: it numbers every message sequentially, stamps Bates numbers, and prints the SHA-256 hash of both your original export file and the generated PDF so anyone can later verify neither was altered.

Being honest about limits: whether a court in your jurisdiction accepts a chat export at all — and what else it wants alongside it — depends on local rules of evidence, not on this tool. ChatViewer cannot certify your export; it can only produce a complete, tamper-evident document and a certificate template. The template still needs to be filled in and signed by the person who actually made the export, ideally in front of a notary or under penalty of perjury as your jurisdiction requires.

Questions people ask

Is it private?

Yes. Your Telegram export is parsed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working; close the tab and the file is gone.

JSON or HTML — which Telegram export format should I use?

JSON is the more complete, structured format and is what we recommend if you have a choice. HTML works too, but for long chats you may need to zip the whole export folder (not just messages.html) to get every message.

Can I export a Telegram chat from my phone?

No. Telegram’s mobile apps cannot export chat history — only Telegram Desktop on Windows, macOS or Linux has the Export chat history feature.

Does this work with Telegram groups and channels, not just DMs?

Yes. Export chat history works the same way for one-on-one chats, groups and channels, and the viewer handles all three, including per-sender filtering in busy group chats.

How do photos and voice messages show up?

If you ticked "Photos" and other media types during export, they’re saved in folders next to result.json or messages.html. Drop the whole folder (zipped) and they appear inline in the conversation and, if you choose, embedded in your PDF.

Can I export a Telegram chat to PDF?

Yes — open your export here, click Export PDF, and pick a tier. See the Telegram chat to PDF page for the full comparison of Free, Unlimited and Court-ready.
